SESSION 19 - IMAGE FORMATS, STORING, PUBLISHING AND SHARING


  • ·    Find out the most common formats for images and write a short description of the features of each of them.

TIFF (also known as TIF): is a computer file format for storing raster graphics images, popular among graphic artists, the publishing.

JPEG (also known as JPG): compression is used in a number of image file formats. JPEG/Exif is the most common image format used by digital cameras and other photographic image capture devices.

GIF: is a bitmap image that supports animations.

PNG: supports loseless data compression.

Raw image files:  contains minimally processed data from the image sensor of either a digital camera.

  • Which image format preserves the quality better when it is compressed?
The PNG.

  • Which formats are more suitable for web design?
JPG, PNG, GIF, TIF.
